Forum on ¡®The Age of Asia, Future of Corporations

2010 Asia Future Forum: Evolution of East Asian Enterprise, Dec. 15-16 Hankyoreh Media Group presents ¡°2010 Asia Future Forum: Evolution of East Asian Enterprise,¡± an international forum to discuss and propose a new path for East Asian enterprises. Asia Future Forum, the first of future annual events, is a platform for dialogue on the main problems facing Asia by intellectuals representing Asia. The 1st Asia Future Form will synthesize perspectives of professionals of China, Japan and Korea about future of corporations. A keynote speaker, Professor Masahiko Aoki (Stanford University) is a renowned academic that had presented unique characteristics of business management by Japanese corporations in the 1980s, which resonated international fields of academia. Professor Aoki will offer his viewpoints on business management that are counter to currents of Western corporate management. Professor Chang Ha-joon (University of Cambridge) plans to address the future relationship between governments and corporations. Professor Yang Bin (Tsinghua University) and Professor Takashi Ebashi (Hosei University) will analyze corporate social responsibility management of Chinese and Japanese corporations. Toshio Arima, former chairman of Fuji Xerox, will share reflections and performances of corporate social responsibility management based on his extended business management experiences. The Hankyoreh Economic Research Institute (HERI) will also announce the results of its rating of the ¡°East Asia 30,¡± 30 Chinese, Japanese and Korean corporations with excellent standards of corporate social responsibility management. Professor Ahn Chul-soo (KAIST) will analyze reasons behind the failures of small and medium ventures in East Asia and recommend ways to increase success rates. Professor Lee Keun (Seoul National University) will showcase corporate innovation of East Asian enterprises. Professor Kanji Tanimoto (Hitotsubashi University) and Park Won-soon, Executive Director of the Hope Institute, will present cases of partnership between social enterprises and large corporations as well as future prospects. Professor Zhu Xufeng (Nankai University) and Professor Takahiro Suzuki (Josai International University) will examine procedures of policy making in China and Japan. Professionals in the areas of low carbon business management and ISO 26000 will share their expertise and experiences.
