    Professor Jayoung Yoon graduated from the Department of Economics at Seoul National University and earned a doctorate in economics from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She has taught labor economics at the Department of Economics at Chungnam National University since 2016 after working as a researcher at the Korea Labor Institute affiliated with the Economic, Social, and Humanities Research Council.
     

    Her research focuses on multidimensional discrimination and inequality, particularly in relation to gender in the family and labor market. She explores the impact of care work, both in the market and home spheres, on gender inequality. Additionally, she investigates the socio-economic value and importance of the care economy. Their findings have been published in various papers. 

     

    She has served as a member of the Presidential Committee on the Minimum Wage Council and the Ageing Society and Population Policy, and as a consultant/advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and NGOs advocating women’s and workers’ rights.
